Our mission is to provide opportunities for our members “to keep open the communion between Jesus and your own soul. Seek every opportunity to go where prayer is wont to be made. Those who are really seeking for communion with God will be seen in the prayer meeting, faithful to do their duty and earnest and anxious to reap all the benefits they can gain. They will improve every opportunity of placing themselves where they can receive the rays of light from heaven.”—Steps to Christ, p. 98. To provide quarterly activities which will permit the eleven congregations to come together in prayer, either by prayer vigils, the pre-camp meeting gathering, and simultaneous prayer activities with evangelistic outreach campaigns. Our prayers cover all who are in need worldwide, as we receive them. Prayer Coordinators around the churches include:
Meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the office of Dr. Ronald E. Lightbourne in the lower level of the Hamilton Seventh-day Adventist Church. Prayer Coordinators and assistants are welcomed. Other activities are scheduled and conducted throughout the calendar year as arranged by the Prayer Ministries directors. Prayer is: The opening of the heart to God as to a friend. Prayer is not an expiation for sin. It is not a penance. We need not come to God as condemned criminals; for Christ has paid the penalty of our transgression. He has made an atonement for us. His blood cleanses from sin. Prayer is a heaven-ordained means of success. . . . prayer moves heaven. . . .
